Do you ever just stop and look around and really take it all in?
This morning, Paul decided to do his mobility workout outside and I’m glad he did. It encouraged me to also get outside. Since I can’t workout yet, I brought my book and started reading. The sun was warm, the breeze was chilly, the birds were chirping… soon I realized I wasn’t paying my book any attention! All I could think about was… everything.
The nice weather brought my attention to our yard which led to our house and then our cars and our jobs and our relationships and our love… for life. Literally, everything.
Paul and I have so much to be grateful for, and trust me, we are. We have a great house with a great yard in a great neighborhood. We have two reliable cars. We have jobs that we love, and a dog we get to take with us everyday. We have the best family and friends you could ask for.
All this stuff is great, but it is also far from the point. Our patio is cracked, our yard has weeds, and our trees are smaller than our neighbors’. We could choose to sulk and whine and complain about these things, but instead, we choose to be thankful. Thankful that we have a patio, and a yard, and trees. Those things are beautiful! Why waste your energy picking them apart to showcase the negatives?
This isn’t just about our yard but about everything in life. You see what you choose to see, so stop looking for the negative and start focusing on the good!
I don’t really know where I wanted to go with this post. I guess I just needed to express my love for life and all things in it and hopefully encourage you all a little. We all have dirty windows but you shouldn’t let them take away from the view. Start loving life.
Everything has beauty, if there is beauty in your heart.
